Over 1000 Retro Games To Be Added To Xbox Through Antstream Arcade

The Antstream Arcade platform is home to tons of video game from the last four decades of interactive computer entertainment. The app is currently already accessible for Linux, PC, Mac, Android (and Android TV), Firestick, Samsung TV, and through web browsers. Now, later this July, the app is set to launch on the Xbox Series X|S and Xbox One. With this arrangement, it'll mark the first time the application will be available on a major console platform. Antstream Arcade CEO Steve Cottam created this medium to rekindle with the games he grew up with.

“Despite living in an age of incredible technology, I found it wasn’t easy enough to access the games I loved growing up and I wanted to be able to easily share scores and compete against friends,” Cottam stated in a press release. “We believe in the preservation and accessibility of all games, the great, the impossible and the forgotten or lesser known too, I’m very proud to bring the Antstream Arcade platform to the Xbox community”.

Along with 600+ games, Antstream also hosts tournaments, achievements, and community battles. This almost feels in a lot of ways like bringing what Fightcade had built for years for the fighting game and retro gaming community. Titles available span throughout the four decades of interactive computer gaming, from the Amstrad and DOS games, to Neo Geo arcade entries like Fatal Fury and Metal Slug, up to the Atari Jaguar and PlayStation 1 titles.

Pre-ordering starts at $29.99US for a year membership, or $79.99 for lifetime access. The price also covers additions to Antstream Arcade. This service will available in Europe, the UK, the USA, Canada, and the Vatican City.
