Nintendo fans have one more month to take advantage of sharing their gameplay videos via X. According to a post on the social media platform, X (formerly known as Twitter) will have its integration removed.  

On June 10, 2024, we will discontinue integration for X (formerly Twitter) as well as the ability to send friend requests to friends on social media (social media integration) from within the Nintendo Switch friend suggestions feature.

As of June 10, 2024, it will no longer be possible to post screenshots and videos to X (formerly Twitter) from the Nintendo Switch's Album, or send friend requests to social media users via the Friend Suggestions feature.

Nintendo also pointed out that while integration with Facebook remains, there's a possibility that it could change in the future. Microsoft and Sony had already removed sharing features directly to the platform after it had been purchased and re-branded by Elon Musk in 2022, so it was likely inevitable that Nintendo would follow suit. The strong speculation being the heightened API charges Musk has implemented, as X has driven away major sponsors and brands away from it. 

The Nintendo Switch app still exists. This could be an opportunity to increase sharing options across it, and it could be that viable replacement for the loss of Miiverse back in 2017.
