(Edited) Developing Story From The Overwatch League That You Can't Miss

Last Sunday I report that Geguri has been signed to an OWL team. It took 48 hours for this news to change drastically.

Where it started was a reddit post, saying that during a live stream. Geguri commented that she was picked up by "a foreign team" and gave no other information on it. The rumors started flying on what team picked her up. Names like Dallas and Boston were flying around, as she has ties to both of those teams in one way or another.

The next day it was settled, she was going to be on the New York Excelsior team. People were excited.

And then, ESPN tweeted this.
The internet exploded. Why the Dragons? Well, the Dragons, having come off of a really bad first season, is trying to pick up players for Stage 2. So along with grabbing Geguri, they also got Lee "Fearless" Eui-Seok and Cheon "Ado" Ki-hyun. All 3 players will be rounded out with 3 Chinese players to make their team for stage 2. The 3 Chinese players are unknown at this time.

I wish I could say that that was the end of this story, but its not.

Roy, the Chinese Overwatch League caster came out and said that she has not been picked up by Shanghai Dragons. Then 2 hours after that, somebody else came out, who is close to the team, and said that Roy isn't a good source for this information and left it at that.

What is geguri saying during all of this? Not much really. She doesn't understand why this is a big deal. Even the Overwatch League head office chimed in and said "there hasn't been any contracts that they have come across yet".

So where do we stand? A lot of rumors and speculation. ESPN claims that their source is good, it was the same source that leaked 11 of the 12 OWL teams. Shanghai has not commented on this at all.

We are just waiting for a confirmation either way so stay tuned for updates on this interesting story.

Edit

It is now official. Geguri along with 3 other players have been signed with the dragons.
