Yesterday, I posted an article about a possibility that Nintendo is going to be reviving a game that was thought to be dead.
Today I am posting a new leak that blows this wide open.
"Nintendo Insider" is reporting that a source close to the project is telling them that the game Nintendo is reviving is.....
Scalebound was an ambitious title from creator Hideki Kamiya and developed by PlatinumGames. Originally announced as an Xbox 1 exclusive in 2014, but after ups and downs in development. It was subsequently cancelled in 2017. Its abrupt end ticked a lot of people off. This was the exclusive for the Xbox 1.
Fast forward to now. PlatinumGames and Nintendo are BFF's with Platinum developing The Wonderful 101, Star Fox Zero, and Bayonetta 2 for the Wii-U. Platinum has stated many times that if it wasn't for Nintendo, Bayonetta 2 wouldn't have been a thing to begin with.
With Bayonetta 3 rumored to be released this year and the newly announced Astral Chain. This could be the chance for Kamiya to go back to his previous project, and with Nintendo helping out. He could finally see his game be released.
Microsoft did try to renew their trademark on the Scalebound IP, but failed too when they couldn't specify what they were going to use it for. That left the IP open again for somebody to swoop in and capture it.
This -might be- what Imran Khan was hinting about last week. Or, it could be just a load.
However, Nintendo Insider is putting 100% of their faith behind their source.
Further to this, I believe that Scalebound is likely to be the “game that’s thought to be dead that Nintendo’s reviving” that Game Informer senior editor Imran Khan had hinted..
This story is still developing. I'm sure we are going to have something solid in the coming week. With rumors flying around, there is no way that Nintendo is going to sit on this for very long.
This has been James with Game Fix. Game on everybody!
