Almost a week ago, we reported on a leak for the next State of Play event.
Well, that leak was completely wrong, of course.
While the date was correct, everything else was wrong.
So lets break it down.
Crash Bandicoot 4: It's About Time
We got a gameplay trailer for the newest Crash game and a release date. It's also been confirmed that it is not a PlayStation exclusive.
Hitman III
We knew this game was coming out in January. People speculated about VR. Well, today it was confirmed. Hitman III is going to have VR.
Braid: Anniversary Edition
The classic indie darling, Braid, has been updated with revamped animations and music. It now has been "hand repainted" in its very unique style. It is also going to have the "most detailed commentary than any other game every released so far".
It is a getting a simultaneous release for pretty much everything, including next gen. The game looks amazing and the trailer for it is very well done.
The Pathless
Now, this is a game I am very interested in. The creators of Abzu have their next protect, a mythic adventure about an archer and an eagle (yes, you get to pet the eagle).
I really hope this game gets a PC release. So far just PS5 has been confirmed.
Spelunky 2
Ever want to dive down a cave to just explore? Well now you can with Spelunky 2 coming out September 15th for the PS4 (so far only console confirmed)
Genshin Impact
Ever want to play Breath of the Wild but didn't want to play as Link? Well, there is hope for you. The very much Breath of the Wild inspired game Genshin Impact is coming to the PS4. It's an open-world action RPG and it will release Fall of this year.
I will give it one thing, the game does look pretty.
This next game looks weird... but kind of interesting.
Aeon Must Die
In this unique beat-em-up, you are traveling across a futuristic city, Pantheon, to destroy those who betrayed Aeon, the Emperor of this land. It's going to feature a risk-reward gameplay, innovative tactical fighting, and an RPG alignment system that will track how you behave in the world.
Sony is hitting all of the "unique indie games" check list.
ANNO: Mutationem
Another case of a very unique looking indie game that has frankly caught my attention.
There is really nothing known about this game, just game that it's an action-adventure game with RPG elements. You are in a cyberpunk work that features 2D pixel art and 3D graphics.
The trailer though. Wow.
I have no idea what to say about the next title. Just that it's weird.
Bugsnax
I don't even know, to be really honest.
This game looks very weird, and kinda fun.
Control: AWE
The really cool Sci-Fi game Control is getting it's second expansion titled AWE. In it, you play as Director of the Federal Bureau of Control, Jesse Faden. Jesse must enter the Investigations Sector and confront the lurking abandoned part of the Bureau that has haunted the sector for years. You will be exploring the numerous Altered World Events and trying to put the puzzle together.
We got more info on the newest Gearbox game, Godfall.
Godfall
This time we got a breakdown of combat and some of the weapons will we will be using. I am very interested in this game. With each video I see, I get more and more hyped for it.
Finally, the Pokemon clone TemTem is heading to the PS5 next year. It even got a fancy new trailer.
TemTem
That's it. A few new games, all indie, but nothing huge. I was expecting a little more info about the PS5 itself.
Oh well, I'm sure we will be doing this in another few months.
As always, this has been James with Game Fix. Game on everybody!
